052 - Shipping/Packing - Packer

1st Shift

Job Description: Unloading and inspecting aluminum extrusions from age oven cars to pack per customer specification also to assist on re-saws by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

• Packs specified number of parts of finished product as per work orders.
• Operate banding machines and woodcutting saw for wood battens.
• May build specific packaging for shipments using wood, metal banding, plastic or other wrapping materials.
• Follow packing instructions on the plant work orders; ship tolerances, packing requirements, stencil requirements, weight limits, shipping tolerances, etc.
• Prepare and stencil materials to customer requirements.
• Ability to read a tape rule.
• Inspects or measures work.
• Load and unload age ovens and trucks.
• Maintains safe orderly work area.
• May be required to work any shift.
• Overtime required.
• Follows safe work procedures.
